Check the competition...

Check the competition

To find a profitable niche it is essential to identify keyword with high volume
research and low competition. The first thing we talked abogut in the previous paragraphs (How to find a niche), in this section we present the second.

To understand how a niche is competitive and they are individual sites that Act we  must connect with google.com site and begin making searches. The results we have to take account of the following parameters. Don't panicWe'll explain later how to automate the procedure.

Number of results: when we do a search on Google, the US search engine also provides
number of results obtained. If you do it for the term web space, google.com returns nearly 387.000.000
results. The higher this value, the more sites and therefore competitors who deal witht hat topic.

Page Rank: this is a value that has been developed by Google. Refers to the "weight" or"strength" of a
site. The Page Rank ranges from 0 to 10. The higher this value plus the site is authoritative and hard to
overcome in the results, at least initially

Backlinks: backlinks are the number of links to a site. The links are interpreted as votes. A link that has many direct links towards it will "weight" than to one with a number of backlinks, and then vote.

Indexed pages: the number of indexed pages on the search engineThe bigger the number, the stronger the site indexed. Presence on Yahoo: get a site indexed on Yahoo Directory is an added value.
The registration in this directory is chargeable

Dmoz: presence have a site indexed at Dmoz is an added value. Registration at this directory is free.

Age of dominoes: more domain registration dates back in time the better. As anticipated, there is a way to automate the whole thing. In fact, carefully consider all these values for every niche and every single site of 10 appearing on the front page, could mean spend days and days of very thorough studies and even boring.

Fortunately there are free tools that do the dirty work in place our. One such tool is the Firefox plugin called SeoQuake (http://www.seoquake.com/).

Once you install the plugin, go to Google and enter our keyword. The page that contains the results will be modified by the plugin. Under each site will beexpressed many values, including those listed above.

If the 10 sites on the first page of Google have a Page Rank of 4 or 5, to overcome it will take many months of work. Then, in a few seconds we can find out whether the previously selected keyword is for ours.

If, on the other hand, the Page Rank of the pages present in the top 10 places havevalues that are
less than 2 or 3 then we can begin to think that they have found a niche.

The same goes for the backlink. Sites with a number of backlinks higher than any hundred sites are hard to beat in the short term. The lower the number of links easy will overcome them in the Google results.

Now let's move on to the practice and make a careful evaluation for the keywordidentified inearlier. We see that for most of them it is possible to move before sites currently found on Google index. In fact, you will notice how many indexed pages, Page Rank with values less than 2 or 3 and a number of links do not
overkill.

For example the term "roomba" returns a result where the first site (in the time of this writing) has a Page Rank and back links 1 104. It won't be very difficult  earn the first position, or immediately after, for this term that generates the beauty of 2,900 searches per month. And this is just one of several key words
that we have identified.
